Reflective Week 5
Though, I was busy
with some professional tasks, week 5 has brought new surprises in my life. I
have got the opportunity of reading the articles on rubric, alternative assessment, project based learning and web quests.
Replacing my traditional way of teaching, I found them quite interesting and
interactive to learn by sharing through this vast learning circle.
The article on
alternative assessment gave me insight on the use of alternative assessment
while evaluating students work. The reasons of my likes are: it fosters the
learner-centered classroom; these methods give learners opportunities on their
linguistics development and their learning processes. As the features of it are
solely based on students’ performance and evaluation, it provides enough
opportunities for the students to participate not only in their learning
activities but assessment as well. I think incorporating alternative assessment
with traditional forms of testing will be quite useful and effective in ESL/EFL
class.
Another task, I went
through was web quest. Going into it, I felt little difficulty but finally I
was successful in having the URL. But still I have done nothing more than that
I have created the URL. Project -based learning, is my next achievement of the
fifth week.
This week as a project
work, I dealt about the problem that I am facing in my class room along with
the possible solution. Finally, I have learnt
a lot from this web skill course.
Hello Upendra,
